Investigators search for person throwing things at cars, shattering windows while driving

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — An increasing number of drivers are reporting that someone is throwing rocks at moving cars near Paulding County High School, authorities say.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office says they have between "15 and 20" cases of shattered windshields along Highway 61 dating back to August. In each case, deputies believe the person or people responsible threw rocks or bricks toward the driver's-side windshields of moving cars.

"It's a miracle no one has been seriously hurt," said Sgt. Ashely Henson with the Paulding County Sheriff's Office. "It's on such a long stretch of roadway that it's hard to be able to pinpoint exactly where it's happening."
