Police identify pedestrian hit, killed on I-75

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 75 in Henry County.

Henry County police said a 52-year-old man, identified as Alan Bryan Fletcher of Locust Grove, was hit by the tractor-trailer at about 11:40 a.m.

Police said Fletcher walked from in front of his vehicle that stopped on the shoulder of I-75 southbound, where he was struck. The accident blocked all southbound lanes of I-75 near Locust Grove Road.  Affected lanes have since been reopened.

At this point police don't know whether the victim had broken down on the interstate or had stopped his car. The accident is under investigation.
