I-285 weekend roadwork may cause delays

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Metro-area drivers on I-285 will likely see delays throughout the weekend as crews continue roadwork on the top end and west side of the busy interstate.

Georgia Department of Transportation noted expected backups on I-285, south of Chamblee-Tucker Road in DeKalb County. Work in that area may close up to three lanes this weekend, DOT officials said.

On I-285 in both directions between Riverside Drive and Ga. 400, up to three lanes will be closed for construction.

Also, on I-285 southbound on the west side from Cascade Road to Langford Parkway in south Fulton County workers will be replacing damaged concrete slabs with a double right-lane closure for most of the weekend.

DOT also noted that single-lane closures will be in place in various locations around I-285, on I-75 and on I-20 for drain cleaning, shoulder sweeping and sign upgrades.
