'Housewives' stylist rival speaks out after shooting

ATLANTA — A hairstylist accused of opening fire in a rival salon spoke out on an Atlanta radio station Friday. He said he's not worried about police looking for him.

Atlanta police told Channel 2's Ryan Young they are looking for a gun-toting hair stylist who got mad when his client went to someone else for help. The shooting happened at the J. Spot Salon on Pharr Road in Buckhead.

Celebrity hair stylist Derek J makes regular appearances on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" and has appeared in the documentary "Good Hair." A gunshot mark can still be seen in his floor.

"I'm upset because my floor is messed up," J told Young.

He said it all stemmed from a bad hairdo. Atlanta police sources told Young the client involved is Nefe, the sister of R&B superstar Keyshia Cole.

"Her (hair was) messed up to the point we didn't know what to do. So I was just like, reach out to the stylist and say 'Hey, what did you use, what did you do?" and it turned from a professional conversation to more of an argument but we thought it was done," J said.

A few hours later, the other stylist showed up with a gun, police said. Officers have identified him as Corwin Pledger. He also calls himself a celebrity stylist.

"Before turning away, he waved the gun in my face and said, 'You don't think I will?' And I backed up," stylist Lisa Holland said.

Sources told Young that Pledger said on the radio that he was aiming for the stylist's foot. Atlanta police are now trying to get a hold of the radio recordings to use in their case against Pledger.
