CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A Cherokee County teenager died in a single-car crash Friday morning.
The Georgia State Patrol told Channel 2 Action News Cheyenne Heard, 17, was traveling eastbound on Highway 20 when she ran off the road.
Her Chevy Silverado overturned and she was thrown from the vehicle.
Investigators said Heard was not wearing a seat belt.
Heard was a senior at Creekview High School in Canton.
A school spokeswoman said the school was making extra counselors available to assist students.
The principal will send a letter home to parents Friday.
