Student, parent hit by car while crossing street near school bus

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A parent and student were taken to the hospital after they were hit by a car in Henry County.

The student, who attends Henry County Elementary School, had just gotten off the school bus on Peeksville Road near Ingrams Lane. The parent walked across the street to escort the child back across the road.

As they were crossing Peeksville Road, they were hit by a pickup truck who did not stop for the bus crossing arm, according to police.

They were both taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.
