'Young' thieves target same business 5 times

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Police want to find armed thieves who targeted a Henry County business five times.

The owner of OTAC Agricultural Recycling on Valley Hill Road says he's more concerned about the burglars than the damage.

He has seen the surveillance video and believes they're kids. The group appears to be rushing in with their faces partially covered, and some of them are holding weapons. %

"It was about eight of them," business owner Don Cato says remembering the first time his shop was burglarized.

"One particular guy came back with two other guys," he said. "Then it escalated after that."

He says the group picked on his business, coming back five times in just three weeks back in July.

Henry County police released surveillance images of the burglars on Tuesday to generate leads.

"It was concerning because they were kids, or young," said Cato. "The situation could have been a lot worse."

The owner, who lost thousands of dollars in equipment, says he's more worried about the burglars than his losses. That's because he fears they don't grasp the consequences.

"The business, we have insurance," he said. "They'll replace it, but those kids' lives and risking their lives for trinkets."

The burglars smashed out car windows, took a hatchet to a storage unit, and did about $10,000 in damage.

Police want to catch the people responsible. Cato wants to get through to them. He fears that due to their appearance and the fact that they're armed, their next crime could be their last.

"You're coming around somebody's property with a gun," he said. "This could have been an incident where the officer could have just come around the corner."

Henry County police say one of the suspects had a handgun and another had a rifle that may have been a pellet gun.

"If they do see this, just come to your senses and understand it's not worth it," said Cato.
