Couple shells out thousands for wedding video they never received

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A wedding videographer said he'll offer refunds to couples whose videos are months overdue.

"When you have a video and you can see it and remember it for exactly how the day was, it makes all the difference," April Brown said.

She and her husband Marvin say memories of that perfect day in April 2016 aren't as vivid as they could be.

"Our video was supposed to be here in October," Brown said.

They have seen a short preview posted online but a disc with the full 20-minute production never came from Focal Blu Wedding Films in Locust Grove.

"When you actually do a service for us and you don't deliver it and we try to reach out to you and you stiff us still and shun us, I don't accept that," Marvin Brown said.

Focal Blu charged $4,700 for the video. A Cobb County couple told Channel 2 consumer investigator Jim Strickland they paid $3,800. Their anniversary is next week, and they have received no video.

Strickland found company owner Torrey Rogers pulling out of his driveway in Henry County.

"Torrey, I'm Jim Strickland from Channel 2. I want to speak with you about your wedding video business," Strickland said as he approached. Rogers drove off without stopping.

He later emailed this statement:

"Focal Blu Wedding Films has never had any intentions of misleading or frauding any of its clients. We have had a series of unfortunate personal events which has caused our editing process to be delayed. We are letting it be known to all of our clients that we are still working through our backlog in the order of their booking. No further clients are being taken on until we have completed our previous clients work. Focal Blu is disappointed in our failure to deliver on time with our clients but is full committed to delivering our films, and offering refunds to our clients who've waited beyond the contracted time."

April Brown's response: "All we want is our video.  That's what we paid for."
