ATLANTA - Atlanta Braves legend Hank Aaron’s southwest Atlanta home was burglarized earlier this week.
According to an Atlanta Police Department incident report, Aaron missed a call from his alarm company Sunday night, and asked a neighbor to check his home Monday morning.
The neighbor called police when he noticed a broken window. Aaron told the officers by phone that he had two BMWs in his garage, both of which were no longer there, police said.
Officers found the alarm panels in the kitchen and bedroom ripped from the wall with the wires cut.
Keys to the cars had been removed from a drawer inside the kitchen, police said. The closets in the home had been ransacked.
Police said it appears miscellaneous jewelry and the BMWs were all that was taken. One of the cars has since been recovered with the help of a trackng device in the car.
