Masked man nearly abducts 10-year-old boy from driveway, deputies say

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are searching for a man they said tried to grab a boy from outside his home in Hall County.

Deputies said the 10-year-old boy was taking a booster seat out of his mother’s car on Old Cornelia Highway on Tuesday when a man came up from behind him and began dragging him toward a nearby house.

Sebastian Solache, who has three years of karate training, fought him off and ran back into his home, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said.

"He hit him, elbowed him and kicked him. I'm not sure if he was kicked in his private parts but he was able to get him away," said Stephen Wilbanks with the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

The boy told police the man was wearing black jeans, a white shirt and his face was covered with a black cloth.

Deputies set up a perimeter and K-9s tracked the suspect in a wooded area near Roy Cagle Road but lost the trail.

"We're paying a great deal of attention to the incident and trying to get this individual identified and off the street," Wilbanks said.

Arana says it's a relief to see deputies surrounded her neighborhood but she still worries that the attacker is still out there.

“You never know what that person has in mind, what they're capable of,” she said.
