Dry cleaning customers left without clothes after store abruptly closes

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Customers of a dry cleaning store are upset after the business abruptly closed with their clothing still inside.

Good Cents Cleaners, on Liddell Lane in Gainesville, is covered with notes from customers that say things like: "Please call me. I have several items that I need to pick up."

The property owners also left a note on the door explaining that they are trying to get permission to enter the business.

Iris Romero showed Channel 2’s Tom Regan the pickup receipts for her husband's blazer pants and shirts.

She dropped them off for cleaning last month, but then the store suddenly closed.

A sign said there was a water main break and it would reopen April 3 but then it didn't.

“I've been here four times already,” Romero said.

She's not alone, Others have shown up trying to reclaim their clothes that are hanging on the racks right there inside but out of reach.

“It's just all of a sudden,” Linda Wilson said.

“I just want to get my shirt,” Donald Wilson said.

Other desperate customers posted notes on the door saying they too wanted to get their clothes back.

Regan has reached out to the owner but has yet to receive a response.
