HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A Hall County school bus was involved in a fatal crash Tuesday with students on board, Hall County Schools officials tell Channel 2 Action News.
The crash between the bus and a car happened at Cleveland Highway and Whitmire Circle in Hall County Tuesday afternoon.
The Georgia State Patrol said the school bus pulled out into front of the car.
State police say the bus driver had just pulled out of Whitmire Circle and went into the path of the car. On impact the car was partially pinned under the bus. Officials confirmed the driver of the car, a woman, died at the scene.
The bus was carrying 31 students from Wauka Mountain Multiple Intelligencies Academy at the time of the crash.
The school district said six students suffered non-life -threatening injuries. They were checked out at the hospital and released.
The school bus driver, Vanessa Clark, was not injured. She has been charged with vehicular homicide and failure to yield.
The name of the woman who died in crash has not been released.
