Woman taken to hospital after causing several crashes, police say

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating a bizarre series of events that resulted in multiple car crashes and a stabbing in Gwinnett County.

Investigators told Channel 2's Tony Thomas that a woman caused three or four hit-and-run accidents in the area of Oak Road and Five Forks Trickum Road in Lilburn on Thursday morning.

A tow truck driver, who did not want to be identified, spoke to Channel 2 Action News about the woman’s bizarre behavior when he stopped to help her.

The car allegedly involved in the crashes in Gwinnett County.

Once paramedics arrived, they got the woman off him and discovered several stab wounds.

“We are treating this area as if it's a crime scene and we will be looking whether if a weapon is recovered from the car or if there is a secondary crime scene,” said Gwinnett County Cpl. Deon Washington.

The car was damaged in several spots from the collisions just up the road. Witnesses said the woman was able to talk, but didn't make any sense.

Police found several pieces of the woman’s belongings but nothing to help the make sense of whether the woman was stabbed by someone who may have jumped out of the car, or if she stabbed herself and is in need of both medical and mental help.

"We were locking our doors because they said someone else was on the loose," said witness Michelle Brown.
Authorities said the woman's injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
