Drugs, thousands of dollars seized during traffic stop

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Duluth police seized drugs and thousands of dollars after a traffic stop in Gwinnett County.

Police on Sunday attempted to pull over a car that they said was speeding down Pleasant Hill Road.

Police said they smelled marijuana when they got to the car.

They asked the driver, identified as Caleb Fields, if there were any drugs or weapons in the car.

At first Fields said no, but then changed his story and told police that he had thrown a bag of marijuana out of the car before he pulled over.

He said he didn't smoke because his pregnant fiancee was in the car.
