GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The father of a student hurt in a school bus crash says his son may have a concussion.
One child and the driver of the school bus are recovering at Gwinnett Medical Center, and another student is at a different hospital getting treatment.
Channel 2’s Matt Johnson spoke with a father of one of those injured children who said not knowing if his child would be OK was extremely difficult.
Todd Roberson said he rushed to the scene around 4:30 p.m. when he learned his child was one of the students hurt in the school bus crash along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at the intersection with North Price Boulevard in unincorporated Buford.
“Your hands are tied you can’t do anything, I’m sitting on traffic on 85, there’s nothing you can do but start praying,” Roberson told Johnson. “This is traumatic for me as a parent.”
Witnesses told Johnson the driver of a tree service truck T-boned the school bus coming from Lanier Middle School.

Someone ran a red light and T-boned the bus on the left hand side,” Roberson said.
He told Johnson that his 11-year-old son will be OK, but he's still shaken up and injured.
“They think he has a concussion and possibly with his shoulder, I don’t know if it’s dislocated or not,” Roberson said.
Gwinnett County police are investigating the crash.
Roberson said he hopes everybody involved can heal quickly.
“We're just praying for the rest of the families, hoping everyone is going to be OK,” Roberson said.
Most children were released to their parents with just minor bumps and bruises. Gwinnett police haven't said if the driver of the truck will face charges.
