Father shot 4 times during robbery

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A father of two young children was shot four times during a robbery at his business.

Gigi Joseph told Channel 2’s Liz Artz that his 36-year-old brother was running the Discount Grocery off Lawrenceville Highway in Gwinnett County Sunday night when three armed men came into the store.

"I keep praying my brother will be OK. I hope he makes it,” Joseph said.

Someone called 911 just before 10 p.m. Sunday. Joseph told Artz his brother was hit twice in the face and twice in the arm.

Joseph didn't want to release his brother's name or a family picture for safety reasons. He said his older brother has two small children 5 and 6 years old and has owned the grocery for three years.

"He's a good man, good man. Everybody loves him,” Joseph said.

Joseph said he warned his brother over the weekend to be observant and keep a finger on the trigger of the gun they keep in the store. Joseph said he was worried about all the armed robberies around the metro area and didn't want anything to happen to his brother.

Joseph said no one saw the gunmen, who quickly ran from the store. Police are hoping surveillance video inside the store will help them identify the robbers.
