Crashed car found days after mother of 3 mysteriously disappears

LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — The family of a Gwinnett County woman who has been missing for nearly two weeks says they won’t give up searching for her.%

Tosha Herron, 36, was on her way to the north Georgia mountains on Oct. 7 when she apparently got turned around and drove into a ravine.

Herron's father, Keith Reed, found her crashed car Oct. 12 along Highway 129 in Lumpkin County.

Police searched for the mother of three by air and ground, but have found no clues.

"I think she climbed out of that mountain, and I think somebody during the night on the side of a windy mountain road picked her up, maybe it was a good Samaritan, maybe it was somebody who meant her harm," Reed said.

The family is convinced that Herron either doesn't know who she is, or is being held against her will, because she has two small children at home and an older son just returning from a year's military tour in Africa.

"She'd chew her hands off to get loose to come see her boys," Reed said.

Herron's family says they've heard she might be in Gainesville, and they're focusing their search there.
