Child in critical condition after crash on I-85

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — An 8-year-old child was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition after a crash on Interstate 85 northbound Thursday.

Police say the wreck near I-985 in Gwinnett County involved an SUV and a tractor-trailer.

Police say a Chevrolet Tahoe was driving north when the driver lost control, flipped and then was hit by the tractor trailer.

The child’s mother, who was driving the SUV, was taken to Northeast Georgia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
