Police are searching for a woman last seen Monday night who they said has Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and needs medication.

Norcross police said Carmela Bravo Cutler, 81, was last seen around 8 p.m. at Shekinah Retirement Home, on Lawrenceville Street in Norcross.

She was last seen wearing a blue-green floral printed shirt and black pants and carrying a pink and white tote, according to police.

Channel 2's Liz Artz spoke to Cullen Tuesday about the search for her mother.

"She shouldn't be alone. That's why she's in a memory care home. I'm really upset she was able to leave so easily," she said.

Artz spoke to detectives just before noon Monday. She learned they used drones to try to find Cutler.

Police said the facility is secure and they are not sure how she was able to walk away, but her family told police she has done this before.

Police said she wandered off on her own, but the longer she is gone the more concerned they are about her safety.

Investigators told Artz she was spotted on surveillance cameras about an hour after disappearing.

Her daughter told Artz the thought of her 81-year-old mother alone at night in a city like Atlanta gives her chills.

"I don't want her to feel alone either. I'm worried about how alone she must feel right now," she said.

Anyone who may find her or has information about her whereabouts should call the Norcross Police Department at 770-448-2111.
