Gwinnett attempted abduction suspect arrested

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. — Gwinnett County police have arrested a man accused of trying to abduct a woman from a Barnes & Noble store.

Police said a woman was at the book store in Peachtree Corners on June 17 when a man approached her and said, "You're the one, come with me." She yelled for help and a witness intervened, police said.

Two days later, on June 19, police said the same man approached several women at The Forum and made explicit comments, police said.

Later that same day, the same man approached a woman who was walking with three kids near Wentworth Drive and East Jones Bridge Road, police said. He pulled up to the woman and tried to talk to her, and the woman told police she saw the man fondling himself.

Police said they traced the car driven in all three incidents to an alias used by Kennedy Miranda, 37.

Miranda was arrested by Dunwoody police on June 19 at Perimeter Mall on charges of disorderly conduct and providing a false name.

Gwinnett police charged Miranda with criminal attempt to commit kidnapping, simple battery and public indecency.
