The Georgia State Patrol says a man led officers on a two-county chase with children and a pregnant woman in the back seat of his car
Authorities said a Chevy Avalanche rolled over after getting hit by a small red car that was trying to get away from Austell police at the intersection of Maxham and Thornton roads in Douglas County.
GSP said the red car was being driven by 30-year-old Jeremiah Mathis. GSP Trooper James Pyland said the chase began in Cobb County.
Channel 2’s Ryan Young spoke to the family of the driver of the Avalanche.
“They were chasing that car and it ended in a three-car accident,” the driver’s daughter, Sasha Briarclift, said.
Pyland said Mathis’ pregnant wife and two children were in the car with him.
“Put them in a lot of danger,” Pyland said.
At least four people were hospitalized. Police said everyone should survive their injuries.
