ATLANTA - Troopers say a wrong-way driver reached speeds over 100 mph before crashing on the Buford Connector.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Barry Blake, 60, pulled out of TattleTales on Piedmont Road in a Chrysler Sebring convertible going the wrong direction and was quickly spotted by a trooper.
GSP said Blake then entered the correct side of the road, and tried to elude the trooper until he crashed on the Buford Connector approaching Peachtree Road.
The trooper said the car rolled four times after hitting a wall.
Blake was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Blake was released from the hospital later Thursday morning and charged with DUI, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, fleeing and attempting to elude and driving in the gore.
