DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A 12-year-0ld girl shot at a DeKalb County apartment complex Wednesday afternoon is in stable condition.
The shooting happened at the Highland East apartments on Flat Shoals Road sometime before 5:15 p.m.
DeKalb County police said two adults were having an altercation when the girl, the sister of one of the men, was shot in the back. Police said she was an innocent bystander.
Police said 22-year-old David Tatum was arrested at the scene later Wednesday night and charged with assault.
Police said the girl's condition is improving.
