Georgia Tech fan fall makes second in two weeks

ATLANTA - For a second time in two weeks, a Georgia Tech fan fell over a railing during a game at Bobby Dodd Stadium in northwest Atlanta.

The latest accident happened during Saturday's Georgia Tech-Middle Tennessee game, officials said.

Officials said after the game, a Georgia Tech freshman fell 15 feet over a railing in the northwest bleacher section.

Paramedics rushed him to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was expected to be released. Georgia Tech officials believe both falls are cases of bad luck.

"Because with both instances, fans fell accidentally on their own. They were leaning over or were in a position they probably shouldn't have been. The rails were certainly up to code or beyond code," said Georgia Tech Associate Athletic Director Wayne Hogan.

The student's name has not yet been released. Jose Espinosa is the person who survived a 20-foot fall on last week.
