Firefighters rescue resident from burning apartments

MARIETTA, Ga. — Firefighters rescued a resident from a fast moving fire at a Marietta apartment complex on Friday.

The fire started at the Ashley Mill apartments on Powder Springs Road just before 9 a.m.

Channel 2's Ross Cavitt said the person rescued by firefighters was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Two other people were treated at the scene.

"It was fast. Spread real fast. I just had time to grab what I could off the bed and get out of there," victim Frederick Jackson said.

The fire burned six units and damaged 18 others, officials said.
