Federal agents raid downtown dental office

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News was the only television station outside a medical office shortly after federal agents began raiding the building.

Channel 2's Ryan Young talked to patients at the dental office on Broad Street in Atlanta Friday who said they were told to get out.

Agents spent the day taking out evidence and documents trying to learn more information about what went on at the office.

FBI agents and agents from HHS-OIG made it clear to patients they had to go.

"It scares you because you're in the back getting ready to be examined and you look up and see someone with a Feds outfit telling you to step out and come to the front," patient Jakeeta Germany.

"The neighborhood is cooperating with each other and reporting what is going on," said Richard Miller, who owns a pharmacy across the street.

Miller has owned the store since 1965, and said there's been considerable efforts being made to restore Broad Street and bring in more development.

"The street's getting a lot better. We are bringing in new tenants, there's more eyes on the street so crime goes down and people  report it. People that live in the neighborhood," Miller said.

Agents at the office would not confirm if any arrests were made there, but did say they were going through documents for quite some time.
