OAKWOOD, Ga. — A Walton County father of three lost a leg in a hit-and-run crash in Hall County over the weekend, his family says.
Oakwood police are looking for the driver of a dark-colored SUV or truck, likely a Cadillac EXT, with damage to it.
Police say the driver crashed into Keith Roberts, 33, on Saturday at Highway 53 and Old Oakwood Road.
Roberts was going home at around 6 p.m. from a charity motorcycle ride with his motorcycle ministry called God, Guns, and Cycles when he was hit, his family said.
“He's found a calling to bring the light of the Lord to other groups," said Dennis Roberts, his father.

Roberts was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after the crash, where he will remain for at least two more weeks as he undergoes surgery. Doctors have already amputated one of his legs.
"While it's tough to know that he lost his leg below the knee," his father said. "He's still with us."
Another thing the family is thankful for is the quick actions of a bystander. A tow truck driver who drove by the scene saw Roberts in pain and decided to help.
"This guy walks up out of the blue and puts a tourniquet on him and saves his life," said Dennis Roberts, in tears. "It’s very likely he wouldn't have made the flight [to Grady] had that not happened."
Now, the family is calling on the person responsible to do the right thing.
"My hope is that they see this and they realize the impact and turn themselves in," said Roberts.
Roberts is the primary provider for his wife and three children, his family said. They estimate medical bills will total several hundred thousand dollars. They have set up a GoFundMe for anyone who wants to help, and they've also set up an account in Roberts' name at any Wells Fargo Bank.
