ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Nearly four years after the death of an Alpharetta girl, a grand jury has indicted the girl’s father and aunt.
Prosecutors say 4-year-old Shakira Decelien died from extreme alcohol poisoning in her Planter's Ridge Subdvision home in January 2011.
Last week, a grand jury indicted Decelien’s father, Wilguen Decelien, and her aunt, Mara Decelien, with felony murder and other charges.
A spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office says they have been investigating the case since then and decided to pursue the charges now.
