KENNESAW, Ga. - Family and friends said goodbye Saturday to a 28-year-old Marietta soldier who was killed last week in Afghanistan.
Sgt. 1st Class Omar W. Forde's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at NorthStar Church in Kennesaw.
Forde is one of six Americans killed Dec. 17 when their helicopter crashed. The incident is under investigation,
Forde was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan., officials said.
Forde's family is asking supporters at the funeral to wear red, white and blue in his honor.
