ATLANTA — Up to six inches of rain could fall across the metro Atlanta area starting Sunday.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls says spotty showers are expected the first half of Sunday with rain arriving later in the evening.
Monday will be drier but the heavy rain arrives Tuesday. Walls said the metro Atlanta area could get 3 to 6 inches of rain through the course of the week.

We've been warning you that a long stretch of rain is coming, and Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz said areas could see more than 1/2-foot of rain in north Georgia before it's all over next week.
High rain totals could lead to significant flooding next week.
There could be flooding for rivers and creeks and some other low-lying areas that could be difficult to travel through.
