Duluth police search for stolen Porsche of slain man

Channel 2 Action News has confirmed Duluth police are investigating the death of man, whom neighbors describe as the salt of the earth.

Police said they received a 911 call from the victim's daughter Thursday afternoon. She reported her father was wrapped in a blanket inside his garage on Montheath Pass.

Police identified the victim as Donald Singer, 57.

Police said the immediate cause of death was not apparent. The autopsy results have not yet been released.
Police said they will rely on toxicology results and additional testing to determine Singer's cause of death.

The victim owned a 1988 Porsche 944 with the Georgia tag, ADK 6725, police said.

Police said the car was taken from the scene of the homicide between March 24 and March 29. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911 or the Duluth Police Department at 770-476-4151.

Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh has been gathering reaction from neighbors and friends throughout the day.
