Police pursuit ends in crash involving 3 cruisers

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Police pursued a vehicle in Douglas County along I-20 near the Thornton Road exit Saturday afternoon.

Police say a GSP trooper was transported to a hospital and two Douglasville police cars were involved in the crash.

Douglasville police tell Channel 2 Action News the vehicles involved in the crash did not have officers inside the vehicles.

The officers were out of their vehicles, which were on the side of the roadway while they were attempting to use spike strips to stop the suspect vehicle.

One Douglasville officer has a sore hand but nothing more than that, police said.

GSP reports that the suspect is in custody.
