DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned that an employee of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was arrested Monday.
Carmel Biggers Jr. is accused of three counts of sexual assault by a law enforcement officer on a person in custody. All three counts are felonies, authorities said.
According to investigators, three inmates were sexually assaulted by Biggers while he was working as a jailer within the Douglas County Jail.

Bond for Biggers was set at $75,000, and he remains in custody. The 39-year-old, who was fired immediately, had been a jailer since December.
The investigation is ongoing and there could be more charges, investigators said.
