Douglas Co. deputies search for car involved in Road Rage shooting

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — The latest entry in the outbreak of Metro Atlanta highway shootings came on Friday afternoon in Douglas County.

That’s when the Sheriff’s office was called out to an apparent Road Rage incident on I-20.

Deputies say the incident happened Friday afternoon just after 5 p.m. That is when they say a small black car with what they describe as a Black male driver shot into the rearview mirror of a white Honda Accord on the Thornton Road entry ramp to I-20.

According to deputies, the driver of the black car then backed up the entry ramp to Thornton Road, driving away from the scene.

Channel 2 Action News has reported on two Road Rage shootings in the past month and multiple incidents of people getting shot on Metro Atlanta roads since the beginning of the year. There has been little explanation for the outbreak of highway violence.

Douglas County deputies are looking for witnesses to help find the alleged shooter in Friday’s incident. They ask if you saw the incident to please call them at 770-577-5108.
