DFCS employee investigated for drug offenses

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Division of Families and Children Services is investigating one of their employees accused of several drug offenses.

Police arrested 38-year-old Ericka Thompson Saturday for driving while under the influence.

When they stopped Thompson on Tara Boulevard at Highway 138 in Jonesboro they found marijuana, cocaine and oxycontin in her vehicle.

According to the police report, a vulnerable adult was riding in the car with Thompson. She told police that she worked at an adult group home on the weekends.

Thompson is out on bond and her next court appearance is Jan. 14.
