ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga.,None — Police in Rockdale County said a man in in jail after authorities found him cooking meth.

Charles Nichols, 50, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamines.

Rockdale County sheriff's deputies went to a home on Old Salem Road in Conyers on Monday to serve him with a child molestation warrant.

That charge was out of Pike County.

Authorities said they found Nichols hiding behind a wall making the drug.

"It affects the neighborhood, it affects the people who live around them, especially when they have kids around," said neighbor Matthew Allgood.

Five sheriff's deputies had to be rushed to the hospital after being exposed to the meth.

They were later released.
