Dental office destroyed in fire

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.,None — Gwinnett fire investigators are looking into what caused a fire to destroy a dental office Tuesday night.

The fire started at the Sugar Hill Smiles dental office on Alton Tucker Boulevard in Buford. A passerby called the fire department just before 9 p.m. after seeing flames coming from the roof.

Crews poured water on the fire from an aerial ladder before entering the building to put out the rest of the flames. Neighbors reported seeing flames rising thirty feet in the air. Neighbor Charles Stamps said firefighters arrived within minutes.

"They started putting water on it immediately and got it down so they did a good job, but the building's a total loss," Samples said.

Fire officials said no one was in the building at the time. The office was scheduled to see patients Wednesday morning and the owner will notify them of the fire.

Gwinnett County Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge said no one was injured in the fire.
