DeKalb polling sites open Saturday for early voting

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Polling sites will be open until 6 p.m. Saturday for DeKalb County residents who would like to vote early in the 2012 election.

Early voting in DeKalb saw a steady stream of participants Saturday morning.

Hundreds of voters came out to vote at a polling site off Lavista Road. Several early voters told Channel 2's Sophia Choi they were able to cast their votes without the aggravation of long lines.

"Easy as can be, just go. Everybody was there to help," said Louisa Joseph.

"Very easy, it took me five minutes," Neal Schawartz, another early voter said.

Choi said there wasn't a wait at a polling site she visited off Memorial Drive.

Officials said Saturday's voters will add to DeKalb County's estimate of more than 16,000 early ballots.

Officials said Oct. 27 is the last chance DeKalb residents can vote early on a Saturday for the 2012 presidential election.
