DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police arrested four young men for trespassing at a DeKalb County school Tuesday while class was in session. One of the men had a loaded gun with him.
Channel 2's Chris Jose learned the school was on lockdown for several hours and the school sent an email to parents, explaining what happened.
The incident has some parents on edge.

“Things like this need to be taken very seriously,” parent Isaac Wimberley told Jose. “This has been going on all over the country-- kids coming in and shooting up schools. I mean, we have to be prepared for this kind of thing."
Officials said a resource officer found the teenager and his three friends trespassing on school property at Towers High School.
None of the four were enrolled at the school.

A school employee told Jose that the teenager with the gun was found inside the building. The others were found in the school parking lot.
“That should never happen. That’s un-excusable and I don't know who's in charge of school security but they definitely need to address these issues, and see what they can do to correct them,” Wimberley said.
In a letter to parents, Principal Vincent Denson wrote, in part, "an investigation is underway to determine how this incident occurred, if other persons were involved and how it can be prevented in the future."
“The main important thing for all kids, not just mine, is safety. To have a gun brought in at this day and time is very alarming, very nerve-wracking. And it definitely needs to be addressed appropriately,” parent Kevin Foote told Jose.
DeKalb County Schools said the student was arrested and will face crime charges. It's not yet known why the teens were on campus.
In addition to criminal charges, the student who brought the gun to the campus could be expelled from his school.
