Man shot to death in Stone Mountain

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators say one man is dead after an apparent shooting at a Stone Mountain area apartment complex.

Detectives said they received a call around 8:30 p.m. that a man had been shot at an apartment complex along Hambrick Road.

When officers arrived, they said they found a 22-year-old who had been shot.

Emergency responders rushed the man to hospital nearby where he died from his injuries.

"We have detectives and crime scene techs out here working the scene ... processing all the evidence we have," said Lt. Mark Lavigne with the DeKalb County Police homicide unit.

Lavingne said detectives were going door-to-door inside the complex looking for any possible witnesses to the shooting.

Detectives said they are working to determine whether or not the victim lived at the complex.
