Police: Victim shoots, kills armed robber outside gas station

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — An armed robbery and kidnapping victim turned the tables on his attacker, shooting and killing the man outside a gas station Sunday morning, according to police.

The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. on Snapfinger Woods Drive in DeKalb County.

Police say the driver met another man nearby to engage in a sex act, but then had a gun pulled on him. The passenger then forced the driver to go to several ATM’s to withdraw cash, according to detectives. %

When they got to the Shell station, the suspect put his gun down and became more relaxed. That’s when police say the driver was able to pull out his own gun and shoot one time.

Police say it appears the shooting was self-defense and the shooter is not facing charges at this time.

Investigators have not released any information about the suspect who was killed or his identity.
