Woman calls 911 hours after being shot in the head

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating a shooting in Tucker on Thursday in which one person was killed and another person was injured.

The shooting was reported at the Northgate Townhouses apartment complex in the 3000 block of Lawrenceville Highway.

DeKalb County police confirmed to Channel 2's Liz Artz that the young woman made the 911 call herself hours after the shooting.

Her boyfriend was found shot to death inside the apartment. Investigators think he turned the gun on himself after he shot her.

Neighbors told Artz the couple lived quiet lives at the complex.

"Nothing like that has happened. I've been staying over here since 9th grade. Nothing like this has happened," neighbor Tera Dixon told Artz.

Investigators said they have not identified the couple, but confirmed that the female, who is in her 20s, was shot in the face, but survived.
