Counter-protester allegedly fired smoke bombs at state troopers

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — One of the nine counter-protesters arrested Saturday has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly firing smoke bombs at state troopers.

Joshua Taylor Taft made his first court appearance via video monitor Sunday morning before a DeKalb County magistrate.

Taft's bond is set at $2,500.

John Bankhead, a spokesman for the Stone Mountain Park police, released the following names of the counter-protesters arrested to Channel 2 Action News -- all who have been charged with wearing a mask or hood, according to Bankhead.
