Community holds vigil for man killed in crosswalk

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Someone hit and killed a man in DeKalb County and kept driving, according to the victim’s friends.

Family members said Dwayne Gordon, 45, was in the crosswalk when he was hit by at least one car on Glenwood Road at Austin Drive on Saturday night.

Hundreds of people showed up for a vigil for Gordon, aka “Playa Playa,” on Sunday night. Friends and family said his colorful outfits and infectious smile were legendary in the Glenwood community.

“If you were walking around sad or mad, you couldn’t be sad or mad (because) he’s going to say something to lift you up,” a friend said.
