Car thieves target Infinities parked outside Perimeter Mall

DUNWOODY, Ga. — A half dozen vehicles, all the same make, were burglarized in a matter of hours at a local mall. One victim told Channel 2 Action News that his car was parked outside Perimeter Mall, where he thought it was safe.

Thieves targeted Infinitis Wednesday night in the Perimeter Mall parking lot.

Six victims came out of the mall Wednesday to find their Infiniti cars and SUVs with holes punched in the door handle locks. The man who spoke to us, who did not want to be identified, was one of those victims.

Police say the targeted Infinity vehicles ranged from model year 2006 to 2016, with sedans and SUVs included.

Detectives believe the thieves are picking on Infinitis because they may have had success punching locks in the past.

"These guys are targeting Inifinitis for whatever reason and winning," the victim said.

Police say some of the vehicles had items out in the open. The victim who spoke with Channel 2's Carl Willis says two of the victims had firearms stolen from their cars.
