Bike-riding man accused of robbing several businesses

DECATUR, Ga. — Decatur police have issued an arrest warrant for Sam Gibbs, 50.

Revolution Doughnuts posted a surveillance photo on Facebook on Friday of a man with a green backpack carrying a purse in his hands.

“Shame on you, dude!” She says the suspect stole the kitchen supervisor’s purse last Tuesday, turning the employee’s life upside down," owner Maria Moore Riggs wrote.

Shop owners on Hosea L. Williams Drive in southeast Atlanta are circulating the man's mug shot hoping someone knows where he is.

On Monday, an Atlanta police detective stopped by Tough Love Yoga.

“The investigator has come out here three times,” owner Neda Honarvar told Channel 2’s Rikki Klaus.

This surveillance video from behind the northeast Atlanta yoga studio was taken last Monday and shows a man on a bike who slipped in the back door.

“He was wearing the same outfit, so he had the same blue hooded jacket on, black hat, green backpack,” said Honarvar.

She said the suspect took $120 from the cash register. Police are investigating if Gibbs was behind this burglary, too.

“It just makes me really sad because it seems like he’s hitting a lot of places in the neighborhood, and it’s affecting a lot of my friends’ businesses, and it’s just really unfortunate,” Honarvar told Klaus.

Shop owners on Hosea L. Williams Drive in southeast Atlanta are circulating Gibbs’ mug shot. The Pullman owner says Gibbs has been sleeping behind their shops.

The manager of the Kirkwood Bark and Lounge said his surveillance camera caught Gibbs behind his desk, rifling through papers.

To be clear, the arrest warrant for Gibbs is only linked to the purse theft in Decatur. If you have any information, call police.
