DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Two men escaped their vehicle after they drove into Murphey Candler Lake.
The men were able to climb out through the sunroof and swim to shore before officers arrived, according to Brookhaven police Maj. Brandon Gurley.
The crash happened around 9 a.m. Sunday.

The DeKalb County dive team was able to retrieve the vehicle.
The depth of the lake was approximately 15-20 feet, said DeKalb Fire and Rescue Capt. Eric Jackson.
Officials said the driver either hit the accelerator, or that the vehicle had an equipment malfunction.
There were no injuries reported.
