COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting near the Fayette-Coweta County line Tuesday morning.
Police say officers began chasing a stolen car on the interstate.
During the chase, the suspect, David Carroll, abandoned the car.
Officers say he then broke into a nearby home, where the homeowner fired shots at him. Carroll managed to get away and steal the homeowner’s car.

He led police on a brief chase before crashing and flipping his car where police set up a road block.
Carroll then crawled out of the overturned car and began shooting at officers, who returned fire, killing him.
The exchange with police was all caught on body-camera video.
The GBI is investigating. The sheriff said his deputies had no choice but to shoot.
