Cops seeking answers in DeKalb County fatal shooting

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police are investigating a murder that happened at about 3 a.m. inside of a Decatur home.

Police said when they arrived at the home on Woodfern Drive, they found the homeowner who reported the shooting with a bloody nose and a bruised elbow.

The homeowner said his friend came to the home with an unfamiliar friend.  At some time during the visit, the homeowner said his friend and the person began arguing.

The homeowner said he got injured trying to break up the fight, which escalated into a shooting.

At this time, DeKalb County investigators do not have many details on the man that died in the incident , but they do know he is in his 30s.

Police have not made any arrests just yet, nor have they found any weapons at the scene. They are not sure if the shooter left on foot or drove off.

Investigators said the homeowner was drunk when the shooting happened, but they hope to get more leads once he sobers up.
