COBB COUNTY, Ga. — The GBI is investigating a deadly deputy-involved shooting in Cobb County.
Authorities say deputies were executing a search warrant in a drugs and gun case at the Liberty Pointe apartment complex on Franklin Gateway.
Lt. Colonel Robert Quigley said a drug suspect tried to run over an undercover narcotics deputy with a car, and that's when he fired his gun.
The suspect was identified as Joel Muturi, 23.
“A suspect of that investigation was shot by a deputy sheriff,” Quigley said.
Channel 2's Tom Jones spoke with neighbors who described the chaotic scene.
